This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of electrical systems and wiring with a focus on practical design applications. Students will begin by learning about the essential tools and safety equipment used in electrical work, ensuring a solid foundation in workplace safety. Key topics include: Basic wiring techniques such as creating simple circuits, installing switches, and connecting outlets. An overview of electrical codes and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Step-by-step hands-on practice in designing and implementing electrical systems. By the end of the course, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to safely design and install basic electrical systems in residential and commercial settings, making this course ideal for beginner. To be eligible for this course, you must: 1. Be a resident of Clackmannanshire 2. Be aged between 16 and 67. 3. NOT currently be enrolled in full-time education. 4. NOT be working more than 17.5 hours a week
The course will run from 10:00am until finishing up at 14:30pm on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th October.
Both sessions will run at the Resonate Building in Alloa.
If you are successful in securing a space, there will be an induction/pre-requisite to the course, being held on 23rd October, from 13:30 - 15:00 at the Gartmorn Room in the E-Centre, Alloa.
Please keep in mind that you will need to be able to attend all 3 days to be allocated a space for this course.
